Scènes - Esquisses pour un jour de fête (2002)

This work has been composed for a standard organ (not too small and not too big) with a medium number of stops that include foundations, reeds and mixtures.
There are eight parts, each of them has an own configuration based on different technical patterns, whereby the organist finds some virtuoso elements.
Each part can be played alone, and their sequence is not strictly imposed.
Only the seventh part must be followed by the last.
However, if the organist is going to play the whole work, the sequence of the score has to be observed.
It is always recommended to choice the stops (and their possible interactions) in a way to reach the greatest variety of colours of the organ sound.
This work is full of joy: in this way it has to be performed.
The playing time is flexible but not longer as twenty minutes.

SIGNS

SIGNS | more info
Duration 4'20'' 7 pages

This work is a short joyful scherzo or divertissement.
It has been written for a concert in England and it is based on rhythmical elements which have different levels of interactions among them.

The title of this work comes from semiotic knowledge, like the various treatments of the melodic lines which mean (and don't mean) something (and something else).

The registrations should be considered as suggestion, however the use of Reeds is recommended.

The metronomic suggestion is a "good tempo" for the performance.

The work was first performed at the St. Bartholomew Church in Leeds, Armley, on August Bank Holiday 2006 by the composer himself.

SFÈRE - Poema senza parole (I)

SFÈRE - Poema senza parole (I) | more info
Duration 17'25'' 7 pages

This work is a poem for organ without lyrics: "Sfère" (an Italian word meaning "spheres") are impressions about the Sky.

It has been written for great organ with three to five keyboards.

The registration is free, but the organist should be able to produce a maximum of colour distributions among the keyboards and pedal.

It is particularly recommended to use orchestral and solo stops.
Big mixtures should be avoided.
Reeds have to be used with care to produce a sound full of lightness that is not too strong though.

The tempo may be considered free but not slow. However, the playing time must not be longer as ten minutes.

The work was first performed at the Nicolai Church in Leipzig on July 2008 by the composer himself.
