Jarmo Uolevi Parviainen (6 September 1928, Helsinki – 12 August 1994, Espoo) was a Finnish composer and church musician. He was one of the children of music pedagogue Lauri Parviainen (1900–1949).

Parviainen began his musical studies by taking violin lessons. He later completed a diploma as an organist and graduated with a Bachelor of Philosophy degree. Parviainen worked as a cantor organist in Espoo and Helsinki from 1949 until he was forced to resign from his position in 1961 for health reasons. His career as a church musician was cut short and his planned teaching position at the Sibelius Academy was prevented from being realized when he fell seriously ill as a result of a cerebral hemorrhage in August 1958. At that time, Parviainen also became paralyzed.
