Carl Axel von Kothen (15 August 1871, Hamina – 7 July 1927, Tammisaari) was a Finnish singer, singing teacher and composer.
He graduated in 1894, studied singing at the Helsinki Music Institute under Abraham Ojanperä and composition under Martin Wegelius, and then pursued his musical studies several times in Europe in Rome, St. Petersburg, Vienna, Dresden, Paris and Munich. Von Kothen worked as a private singing teacher from 1901 to 1924 and as a singing teacher at the Helsinki Music Institute from 1908 to 1924.
Von Kothen composed solo and choral songs, piano and orchestral works such as symphonies and cantatas. He gave concerts as a singer in Finland, St. Petersburg, Berlin and Paris.
