Raul (Raoul) Armand Jerzy Koczalski, Polish pianist and composer. He studied the piano in Warsaw with J. Godomski. He made his debut in Warsaw at the age of 3 as a child prodigy. In 1888 he played in Petersburg for Anton Rubinstein, he gave also concerts in Riga, Odessa, Paris – admired for his talent and outstanding technique. Between 1892 and 1896 he studied in the Music Conservatory in Lvov with L. Mark and K. Mikuli.

During the second world war he stayed in Berlin and organized private concerts. Between 1945 and 1948 he taught in the High School of Music in Poznań.

He was also a composer – at the age of 9 he composed a Symphonic legend Op. 53, at the age of 17 – opera Rymond. He left over 200 compositions; piano pieces, chamber music, pieces for the orchestra and operas.
